How to Solve the 3 Defects that Often Appear in the Extrusion of Aluminum Profile?

The extrusion process follows instantly when the aluminum rod has been burned. But the snag here is that after the heating comes to some defects on the aluminum rod. The defects could be scribing deformation or even bending. The thing is that if one doesn't take time to assess and identify the reasons for these defects and proffer solutions to them on time, it means that the physical outlook of the aluminum profile of the products manufactured will be bad. One can only give this assertion from careful observation.  This is necessary to avoid the business from experiencing unwanted losses and scrap.

Causes of defects that appear in the extrusion of aluminum profile

It is always good to find the root cause of a problem and to be able to proffer the right solutions. So, what are the causes of these defects?

The problem of inappropriate size

This happens when the size between the aluminum extrusion pad and the aluminum extrusion cylinder doesn't match. So the die hole makes the aluminum metal particles forced in to form a short strip. This would not happen if the right size of support pad and die-hard are used.

The problem of the passage of time causes bending

Another reason is that the aluminum extrusion die is not being replaced on time. So, the time used for the process was way too long making the time for the hardness to be short. So this makes the extruded profile bend easily and becomes elastic.

Extrusion temperature and speed

Another cause of defects is extrusion temperature and speed. This simply means that if the extrusion temperature is very high or its speed is very fast the flow speed of the profile increases as well. The outcome will be mold deformation increasing, and deformation resistance decreasing while the metal flow speed will rise. All of these will bring negative effects which bring about aluminum sticking.

How to solve the three defects that often appear in the extrusion of aluminum profile

Now, let's cover how these defects are solved:

When it comes to the defect of the working part, non-working part, or that extruded barrel, the chamber of the inlet of the extrusion shouldn't be more than 1mm.

When it comes to choosing an aluminum extrusion die for the production of the aluminum profiles,  One needs to know that the size error of the fit between the extrusion pad and the cylinder should not be more than 0.1mm.

They should be the adoption of only the correct aluminum extrusion process. The aluminum extrusion die should be hard and there should be a smooth working belt without teeth.

Conclusion

It is always good to pay attention during the aluminum extrusion process to detect any defects during the production stage. This is because the defects do affect the quality and the beauty of the extrusion of aluminum profile products. So to have aluminum profile products that are of good quality and appearance then all defects should be resolved and the correct aluminum extrusion process  followed.
